Action Aid
ActionAid is delighted to be an official charity partner of Leeds Shopping WeekActionAid is the international anti-poverty charity dedicated to helping thousands of children living in some of the world’s poorest countries.
Leeds has been chosen for the charity’s first-ever city based campaign. Why? Because the people from Leeds are a seriously generous bunch. In fact, there are more ActionAid child sponsors in Leeds than any other UK city.
As part of Leeds Shopping Week, ActionAid is launching ‘Yorkshire Means the World’. The campaign will thank the thousands of existing child sponsors across Leeds and Yorkshire, but it will also highlight the need for more local sponsors to help other children in Africa, Asia and Latin America.
Come and find out more about ActionAid and its work at the ActionAid Festival 17th-18th October, 10am – 4pm, Briggate and take part in Yorkshire Walks the World, 25th October 11-3pm, Roundhay Park, Leeds.

Leeds Community Foundation
Our City. Our Community. One way to make a difference. The Leeds Community Foundation helps improve the quality of life of people living in disadvantaged communities. We do this by making financial grants to support local organisations and charitable groups, of which there are over 3,000 in Leeds. These can vary from a few hundred pounds, to several thousand pounds.
We encourage a spirit of local giving and provide an efficient and simple way for donors to make a long-term difference to the communities in which they live and work. We assist donors in directing their funds towards those groups and communities and can ensure the money is used in an effective and worthwhile manner. www.leedscommunityfoundation.org.uk.
